FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tulsa, OK

What happens when you let three sexy women leave their worlds behind for a sultry weekend on the beaches of Miami?

Jes’ka N.L. Washington engages you in a fast-paced, funky novel taking you on an escapade that twists and turns having you begging for more.  “How We Live” is her first novel, and it is set against a backdrop of passion, lust, lies, and regret.  Based loosely upon her own previous trip to the Sunshine State, this book takes a look into the twenty-something lifestyle that is post-collegiate, yet pre-pension funds.  This group of women is so ready to experience “life” that they throw caution to the wind and sail along for a wild adventure.

Screenwriter Kelsey Scott notes, “Washington boldly voices characters you know, you are or you wondered if you could be.  Their story is both intimate and universal. This is something we will be watching on the big screen soon.”

This is Jes’ka Washington’s second book, a timely follow up release to her poetry in Look Left.  Spanning over ten years of writings, Washington’s highly anticipated book was noted as a time capsule chronicling the ins and outs of young love, spirituality, and unique views of social standards.  Her writing relates the simple steps of life into short verses that become embedded into the heart.  “Humorous and intriguing,” states author Deanna Carpenter, of Lessons from the Fall.  “Jes’ka Washington writes with a smooth melody that translates to various generations and cultures.  I expect many more great works from this young author.”

Jes’ka N.L. Washington is a current educator with Tulsa Public Schools. She received her undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University, and is pursuing her Masters in Educational Leadership at Southern Nazarene.  Her third novel Eddie J is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2007.
